HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP W/ FOOD IS VITAL FOR SUCCESS

HEALING YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH FOOD COULD BE THE FIRST STEP TO ACHIEVING YOUR FITNESS GOALS?

Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe - NYT Cooking

Have you ever struggled with wanting to eat that cookie, or McDonald’s burger but always feeling so guilty because you’re on your fitness journey and you really shouldn’t be eating such junk? Well, I’ve been in your position. I consider myself the binge queen, and it makes diets extremely hard. However, what if I told you, that being healthy and fit starts with your relationship with food? In this blog, we discuss how a healthy relationship with food is the first step to a successful fitness journey!

Mini Quiz

Here’s a few questions to answer:

  1. Have you ever gone on a diet whether to lose weight or because you thought it necessary?
  2. Is food something you enjoy?
  3. Criticized for eating something?
  4. Does your diets end up failing?

If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions…I hate to tell you but your relationship with food is probably unhealthy. Guaranteed, eating twinkies for the rest of your life is not the idea but an occasional treat never hurt anybody.

Evidently, people who go on diets rarely stick to their diets. This is typically due to diets being overly restrictive even though they’re extremely popular or yielding results. Youtuber SoheeFit goes on to discuss certain myths about eating, food, and exercise as she aims to prioritize health and a good relationship with your health.

Sohee posts content that is quite different from other fitness gurus. Where others focus on exercising and posting their what they eat in a day videos, Sohee aims to portray a different message. A message that can be highly relatable for those struggling with their weight and their fitness journey. She emphasizes listening to our bodies, and providing for our bodies with what it requests. She doesn’t believe in restrictive diets and believes that the main important thing when eating is to eat with mindfulness and that every food is nutritious in its own way. There is no vilification of eating an ice cream bar or taking a rest day. The priority is: How do I continue my fitness journey while remaining healthy both physically and mentally.

I hope you look at a few of her videos just to take in the different messages she posts about and if they don’t resonate, then no hard feelings! We’re all in our own fitness journeys the way we see fit.
