High Intensity Physical Training in Mississauga

Who are we?

We are the only gym in Mississauga that offers the unique experience of fully exercising with your own body without the use of machines. Our experienced instructors will guide you through the whole process and assist you on the way so you can unlock the next level of your capacity.

We are located on the Sheridan’s Hazel McCallion Campus, in Mississauga. Our full address is 4180 Duke of York Blvd, Mississauga, L5B 0G5. We offer deals to students, alumni, and athletes. Moreover, we are the official gym to Sheridan Bruins!

How are we different?

Unlike most of the other gyms, PBS Fitness does not count with common gym machines. In contrast, we combine CrossFit, free weights, unorthodox items such as wheels, hammers, ropes, etc. and a unique TRX suspension system, as a result you can exercise more naturally. Our professional instructors guide these sessions and they will lead your group through the different stations, consequently you can exercise every inch of your body.

Why stop using machines?

The creation of gym machines was primarily to provide a “safer” alternative to their counterparts. However, in most instances, this is not the case. Machines put your body in unnatural positions, consequently your joints through dangerous ranges of motion. Consequently, this can lead to muscle strain and even serious injuries. (Yeung, 2021) Most of the machines are put in a position that the human body is not meant to be. As a result you can guide your fitness journey on how nature intended it to be by doing more natural exercises.

Why exercise more naturally?

Furthermore, there are certain benefits associated with exercising more naturally. For instance, natural exercise activates more muscles than machines. Therefore is better for building muscle in the long run. (Parren, 2021) Consequently, by eliminating certain risks and unlocking your true potential, you will achieve more efficient results and long-term success. 

By performing our natural exercises, you are able to lose weight more quickly than if you engaged in an average gym workout, over a certain amount of time. (BackToMotion, 2020) In other words, you will be able to optimize the way you exercise therefore getting in shape smartly!

Absolutely not! PBS Fitness gym was designed with students in mind, therefore as fellow alumni, we understand the struggle and desire to make the most out of your hard-earned money. Therefore, our low-cost membership allows you to work on yourself, while still being able to cover your other costs and refresh yourself with on our bar. Above all we count on sports drinks, protein smoothies, and freshwater! Not to mention our membership is only 14.99 monthly.

Or if you prefer it, you can be trained on a specific section. In addition, you can refresh yourself with a free protein smoothie of your choice.

Student Gyms Near HMC Campus

Are you as student who wants to workout but simply don’t have the time to commute to the gym? Or maybe you cannot afford the membership fees? Are you looking for a gym that has low membership fees in Mississauga? If you answered yes to any of these questions then PSB fitness is the perfect solution for you. At PSB fitness we prioritize students. The student gyms are right on HMC campus.

We know the importance of exercise and how it can greatly impact the student’s physical and mental health. Students should never have to compromise their health because the membership fees are unattainable. That is why at PSB Fitness we have ensured that the membership fees are feasible while ensuring our standards are just as high. There are three aspects that our gyms focus on; top of the line equipment, location and membership prices.

The gyms are set up with top of the line equipment. All of the treadmills can be inclined to encourage students to push themselves further and there are chords attached to allow students to charge their phones. There are water coolers all around the gym and the air conditioning is always on while there are students working out. There is a trainer available on the floor at all times incase a student has any questions. Posters are also set up around the gym showing students different workouts that can be conducted in under 10 minutes. 

Gym Hours near HMC Campus

PSB fitness is designed to serve students. This means that the hours are also set up around students. The gyms open at 6am giving students a chance to workout before classes start in the morning. The closing time for the gym is midnight. Some students may want to stay late after their classes to workout as well. Since the gyms are open from 6am-12am this gives students plenty of freedom to find the perfect time that works for them. By having the student gyms near HMC campus, this allows us to open for longer hours and better serving the students’ needs . 

The Gym is Located Right on HMC Campus

PSB Fitness is located in Mississauga, right on campus. This gives students the freedom to workout right before class, after class or even during their lunch hour. Ontario is also known to have a lot of snow in the winter. This can discourage a lot of students from commuting to a gym. By having the gym located right on campus, this makes it a lot easier for students to workout without having to worry about their commute. It also saves a lot of time and money. The best part about being right on campus is that students can workout with their friends.  

Stressed right before an exam? Go for a quick run. Arrived on campus early? Lift some weights before class. 

Membership Prices of Student Gyms Near HMC Campus

Sheridan gyms are not only conveniently located in Mississauga, but they also have low membership fees. As a student you have a lot of overhead prices. Tuition, books, and housing. Our membership fee is as low as $8/ month for Sheridan students and $30/month for non-Sheridan students. Our monthly membership fees cost less than two cups of coffee. Students should never have to compromise between buying textbooks and paying for their gym membership fees. At PSB fitness we want to take the stress off students and give them access to high end equipment without needing to pay the high end price. The membership prices are affordable and the student gyms are conveniently located on HMC campus.

A beginner friendly low-impact gym is coming to HMC Sheridan campus!

 

Beginner Friendly Low-Impact Gym

That’s right! A low-impact beginner friendly gym is coming soon to Sheridan PSB Fitness.

Now that we’ve been moved to remote learning, working out (or even moving from our desks!) have become less of a priority. Even worse, because we’re not moving as much, focusing and staying awake during class is harder now than ever before!

Now that you think about it, I bet you’re starting to notice it: the sore muscles, back pain and strained eyes from working at the computer all day.

No need to worry any longer!
Did you know there’s a simple, relaxing and low-impact workout that can improve your muscle tension and relieve stress? It’s called Yoga and Pilates, and it’s coming soon to Sheridan college at the HMC and Davis campuses.

It will operate as a 2-in-1 class that begins with light Yoga and ends with a medium-intensity Pilate. Classes are entirely beginner friendly and will be trainer lead.
